The Season Begins: Suite Note and Early Varieties

Suite note is our earliest variety, which we presently are targeting to pick between June 28th and July 3rd. We are anticipating a peak on 9 and 9 ½ row, which is typical for this variety.

While we have limited volumes of Santina, Vans and Sylvia upcoming, our next major variety in the pipeline will be Kordia. Kordia season should run July 5th to 14th , and we are enjoying our first year Kordia crop at our new Bella Vista farm this year. This orchard is planted 75% Kordia and 25% suite note and is one of our earliest sites. Kordia are sizing well, and we anticipate a 9½ row peak.

Next in the introductory line up will be Regina. Harvest starts in the middle of July and progresses from lake level up to 2400 feet elevation over the course of 3½ weeks. Our Reginas orchards are managed in such a way that we target larger sized cherries, and 2025 Reginas appear to be no exception.

Our Main Season Varieties

Concurrent with Regina, by mid-July we begin rolling into our core varieties,

progressing from Lapin, to Skeena, to Sweetheart, to Staccato, to Sentennial;

and then wrapping the season with Sovereigns from our higher elevation sites.

We have a strong balanced crop across the whole spectrum of varieties. We carried out our usual judicious pruning this past spring. With crop loads averaging in the 8-to-10-ton per acre, our traditional sweet spot to maximize quality.

August Supplies

Based on bloom dates and degree days to date, we are confident in forecasting that 75% of our crop this season will ripen over the month of August. This is driven by genetics we focus on in our operation, with Staccato, Sentennial, Sweetheart, and Sovereign forming by far the largest component of our tonnage.

Season Finale

This year we anticipate a first crop of 40 tons of some of the newest genetics

emerging from Summerland breeding program. In 2025 this introductory crop will

be available in limited volumes, to our most loyal customers. Expected harvest

date is the end of August.

Looking Forward To A Quality-Packed Season

We are proud of the balanced crop we’ve developed for 2025 and look forward to delivering premium cherries to our valued partners around the world.
